Dickin's Christmas Village

Dickin's Christmas Village

Hi guys! So today I am going to talk about our Dickin's Christmas Village. This village is from Hallmark department 56. These pieces are from the book The Christmas Carol.

So I will start out with the pieces my Grandparents gave us this year. So first I will talk about Potts Pub. So when we got this home we realized that it has a very small fragile sign with a pot dangling from it. A couple of our other pieces are like that to and we don't put them on because of the cat. This year we decided to put this sign on. So far it hasn't been knocked of but we just put it up yesterday. So the next few pieces all kind of go together. First is the Devon Brooks Span Cottage. Next is Brandon Mill and last is the London Gin Distillery. The these are all connected by e set of rivers. There is a bridge it goes under and the next two pieces have mills. The mills actually turn when you plug them in. Then she got us a tree, Scrooges Merry Christmas, which is Scrooge being nice to people, and a hoarse drawn sleigh ride. Lastly she got us three different sized foam blocks to put under the snow so the land isn't just flat. Thank you guys very much!

Ok so we also have some other pieces. First we have Scrooges house with the ghosts dancing around him inside. Then we have Bob Cratchit's house with some people in the window. Next we have a really pretty church. There is a lot of stone detailing on the walls of the church. Next we have Scrooge and Marley's Counting House. Those are all the houses we have.

Now I will talk about the accessories. So first we have a hoarse drawn carriage delivering barrels of beer to the pub. We also have all three of the spirits and Scrooge together. We have around six different tree's too. Then we have tiny Tim on Bob's shoulders. Lastly we have a guy roasting chestnuts which is really cute.

So that is out Dickin's Christmas Village!

Top Ten Christmas Songs

Top Ten Christmas Songs

Hi guys! So today I am going to talk about my top ten favorite Christmas Songs. So all of these songs are from the Glee Christmas Albums because I like them better then the original ones.

So number one is called Christmas Wrapping. I think that this one is just really fun and cute. I like the music mostly but I also like the lyrics. Second is Little Drummer Boy. I really like this one. The lyrics are ok but I enjoy the music. I remember watching the movie and hearing this song. I don't think it really liked it that much. Third is called River. The lyrics to this one are kind of sad but still good, so I like the music better.

So next we have Do You Hear What I Hear. I really like this one. I love both the music and lyrics. Five is Last Christmas. I also love the music and lyrics to this one. This I remember loving before I watched Glee. My mom and dad used to watch it and my mom had the album. That was the first time I had ever heard that song and I loved it. Number six is You're A Mean One Mr. Grinch. This one is just really fun. Seven is All I Want For Christmas Is You. I like the Mariah Carey one of this but the glee one is good to.

Next is God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman. I'm not a huge fan of the regular version but I really like the Glee one. Number 8 is Rocking Around The Christmas Tree. I really like both the music and lyrics to this. I remember hearing this one at a Christmas party with a lot of relatives when I was little and it was super fun. Number 9 is Winter Wonderland. This one is a classic favorite. I can play most of this piece on the guitar so it's really fun to play and sing along to. Number ten is Santa Baby. This one is another classic and I love the music.

So those are my top ten Christmas music picks.

Teen Titans Swinging Christmas Carol

Teen Titans Swinging Christmas Carol

Hi guys! So today I am going to be writing about a Christmas comic called the Teen Titans Swinging Christmas Carol. A holiday classic (according to my dad).

So it starts out with the Teen Titans making fun of Robin for reading the Christmas Carol. Is then it shows Ebenezer Scrounge with his assistant Bob Ratchet. Bob doesn't get paid enough to buy an electric wheal chair for his son Tiny Tom. So Bob had to work on Christmas. Scrounges partner Jacob Farley had gone to jail for selling fake car parts. He escaped and came to kill Scrounge. The Teen Titans stopped him and put him in jail.

Then three of the Teen Titans dressed up as the ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future. They each visit Scrounge. When the ghost of Christmas future came (wonder girl) she got shot down by some guys that Scrounge was doing illegal business with. They broke Tiny Toms old wooden wheelchair. Then Scrounge turned got and the Teen Titans caught the bad men.in the end Scrounge used a machine that the men had and turned the broken wooden wheelchair into a gold plated top of the line electric one. He also gave Bob a heated office and a raise.

So as you can tell this is a lot like the original Christmas Carol. I would rate it an eight out of ten. The names are modified a little bit too. So I do like the original Christmas Carol better but this story was good. My dad used to read us superhero Christmas comics when we were little and this was one of them.

I liked the part where he was visited by the ghosts. I also really liked when tiny Tom got his wheelchair. So overall it was pretty good.

Thanksgiving Week

Thanksgiving Week

Hi guys so I am going to tell you about my trip to Vermont for Thanksgiving.

So on Tuesday we got in the car and drove to Vermont. Our plan was to leave on Wednesday. The snow would have been too much to travel through so we had to go early. It was about midnight when we got there. It is a twelve hour car trip. When we got there we went strait to bed. The next day we had a nice big breakfast. We hung out for a while and my parents took my little brother shopping with them. I took a nap while they did that. Then when they got back we had dinner and went to bed.

Thanksgiving day my Aunt, Uncle, and two adorable cousins came. That's when it got loud. My little brother and the oldest cousin are the same age. They are really good friends and also really loud. So pretty much the entire day was cooking for the girls and socializing for the boys. We had a huge thanksgiving feast. My grandmother and Aunt Robyn did a ton of cooking. We had turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry salsa, corn relish, green bean casserole, rolls, and more. We had a great Thanksgiving weekend. Thanks to Grandmama for making the food!

So the next day we decorated for Christmas pretty much all day again. In my opinion Saturday was the best day. We had a girly day where we went to a craft fair. It was really fun! So we looked at a lot of home made things you could buy. There was one of those mouse stand that my Grandmother and I love! She got a few things and I got a mug. It had a mouse in crutches with a broken foot and another mouse with a huge red crayon writing hearts all over it. Then we went to two different body care things (my mother and I) while my aunt and grandmama wondered off. So at the first stand my mom got some bath salts and I got three soaps and a bath bomb. At the second stand my mom didn't get anything but I got a two pack of two cupcake soaps and a three pack of peppermint bark soaps. Then when we got home we had dinner and of to bed.

So in the free time my brothers and cousins and I went out into the snow. They had two plastic sleds. We created a great sliding hill until both of the sleds completely shattered and cracked. They were years old though. We still had fun in the snow. There were huge icicles that we played with. The three smaller boys made a tunnel in the snow for them to go through. Then I sat on it.

So today (Sunday) we are heading back home with another 12 hour trip.

Dumb and Dumber

Dumb and Dumber

Hi guys! so today I am going to be talking about a movie I just saw called Dumb and Dumber. SPOILER ALERT!!!!!

So in the beginning of the movie one of the two best friends (Lloyd) is a limo driver. So he is taking a girl named Mary to the airport to go to Aspen. He instantly falls in love with her. Mary's husband was kidnapped so she leaves a suite case full of money at the airport for the ransom. She gets on the plane to Aspen and Lloyd see's that she left her suitcase. He talks his best friend Harry into going with him to Aspen to return it to her. Harry also got fired from his pet grooming job early that day. Harry's car is covered in carpet made to look like a dog.

So the two people who were suppose to get the money at the airport got mad at them and drove after them to Aspen. They stop for lunch at an old country cafe and threw a salt shaker. The salt shaker accidentally hit a big tough guy in the head. He spits in Harry's food. So when Lloyd is finished eating he offers to buy them beer. Then he goes to the cashier and tells her that the big tough guy was paying for his meal, then they leave really fast. So next they stopped at a gas station where Harry is talking to a girl also headed to Aspen and he accidentally caught himself on fire. So he shaded to the bathroom where Lloyd was to stick his foot in the toilet. He opened the stall door and he hit the big tough guy in the head with it. Lloyd was cowering in the corner afraid of him. So then they pick up the kidnapper pretending to be a hitch hiker. They take him to a bar and put peppers on his burger when he isn't looking. So then when he took a bite out of it he fell to the floor and couldn't breath. He told Harry to get his pills but Harry grabbed the wrong bottle and it was the poison he was going to give to them. He gave it to the guy and he died.

So now just the girl bad guy was after them. So they made it to Aspen and found Marry after opening the suitcase and spending all the money on junk and making I owe you cards. So Harry starts seeing Marry and Lloyd gets mad at him for stealing his woman. Lloyd takes Marry to his apartment and gives her the suitcase filled with I owe you cards. Then the kidnapper comes and gets mad because of the money missing. Harry is in the lobby and see's the girl he met at the gas station. She gives him a bullet proof vest and tells him she is an FBI agent. So the guy shoots Harry but he only pretends to die. The police come in and arrest the man. Marry gets her husband back. Harry and Lloyd go back home.

So this movie was really funny. I liked it a lot.

Friends Thanksgiving

Friends Thanksgiving

Hi guys! So today I am going to be talking about my friends thanksgiving. Friends thanksgiving is something we do every year. We gather a bunch of friends at one of their houses and we have a thanksgiving party.

So this year it was at our friends Larry and Alex's house. When we got there it was pretty quite but that changed fast. I spent the first ten minutes texting my friend in New Jersey. Then Madeline came. If you have read some of my past blogs you know about her but she is the daughter of a family friend. She is only two or three but she is so adorable and sweet. So we ate dinner first. There was so much food. There was tons of deserts too.

The food was really good! So thank you to everyone who made all of it. So after dinner Madeline asked me to play hide and seek with her. Madeline's version of hide and seek is telling you where to hide then going and counting and coming back to you. It's a little boring but she is to cute to not play with her. So while we were playing hide and seek a lot of the boy children were playing sword fighting. That was scary but since I'm significantly taller than all of them I just carried her through. During our game a kid named Austin joined in on the fun. He is 14 years old.

Their family left pretty early due to Madeline's bed time. So then I was left with Austin and Helena. We played nerf pretty much the rest of the night. Helena is a friend that I only see around twice a year. She is really nice and fun. She is 12 and in 6th grade.

So thanks to everyone who made this friends thanksgiving happen and it was fun!

Halloween

Halloween

Hi guys! So today I am going to be talking about my Halloween.

Where I live Halloween got moved back a day because my town is big on football. So we went to a family friends house for Halloween. They live in the part of town that most people go to trick or treat. So we walked around only for a little while because we had a toddler. Then we headed back to her house.

So when we got back we just sat around and talked and handed out candy. So a funny story about that is her husband ordered a subscription to get some whatchamacallit bars. He forgot to cancel it and so he got two subscriptions. He wasn't going g to eat that many so he decided to hand them out for Halloween. So these bars are huge king size candy bars. So all the kids walk away amazed.

So next he is going to get a mod of kids disappointed that he doesn't have huge candy bars. So we ate candy and cupcakes for the rest of the night. We just hung out and talked. We had to go home around 9:00. Some people went trick or treating on the right day because they hadn't heard it had been moved.

So that was my Halloween. I hope you all had a scary Halloween!

Dad's Halloween Makeup

Dad's Halloween Makeup

Hi guys so today I'm going to tell you about my dad's Halloween makeup.

So this Halloween my dad was the devil. My mother and I worked on his makeup. So first we painted his entire face red. Next we took black and darkened it up around his eyes a bit. Then we took black mascara and ran that through his eyebrows. Next we filled his eyebrows, goatee, and mustache in with black paint. Last we put powder to make his face matte.

I think that we should have made his face look more darkened and dirty like it was around the eyes. I also that we should have just stuck with mascara and not the black paint for the eyebrows, goatee, and mustache. I think it turned out ok but if we had more time it would have been better.

We also put on one of my moms darker lipsticks on him. That part looked really good because you're lips are naturally darker than you're skin. I think that we also should have countered a little bit with the black using a light hand.

Overall I had fun doing it and it was great for the one night.

Top Ten Songs

Top Ten Songs

Hi guys so today I am going to talk about my top ten favorite songs. I have done one of these posts before but I think for the most part they have changed a lot. These are in no particular order.

Ok so song number one is Fireflies by Owl City. This song is pretty old. I think it is really good and the music itself is really pretty. Number two is Timber by Pitbull (feat. Ke$ha). Again I really like the music to this one. Three is called Let It Go from Frozen. Maybe I just like the movie but I think this song is great.

Number four is Like a Champion by Selena Gomez. This one has great music and the lyrics are inspiring. So number five is probably Perfect by P!nk. This one has amazing and inspiring lyrics and music. Number six is I Knew You Were Trouble by Taylor Swift. I really like the background music in this song. Seven is called Wings by Little Mix. I really like both the music and lyrics I think it's all about girl power.

So number eight is called Write You're Name by Selena Gomez. I like the background music in this one. I think it is a really fun beat. Number nine is Something Were Not by Demi Lavoto. It's one of those songs you just want to sing along to. Lastly, number ten is Really Don't Care by Demi Lavoto. I again like everything about this song.

So those are my top ten favorite songs. I think that all of them are really good songs and I listen to them all the time.

Black and White Halloween Horror Movies

Black and White Halloween Horror Movies

Hi guys so today I am going to talk about the old black and white Halloween horror movies.

So recently I have watched a few of these old horror movies. Frankenstein, Abott and Castelo meet Dracula, Frankenstein, and the Werwolf, The Invisible Man, Dracula's Daughter, The House of Dracula. I liked all of these but my favorite was Dracula's Daughter. I'm not sure why I just really liked it. My favorite scene was when they found out she was Dracula's daughter. I think my second favorite was The Invisible Man. My favorite scene from that one is when he is walking through the snow and leaving footprints in it.

My favorite monster's are Dracula, Frankenstein, the Mummy, and the Creature of the black lagoon. An honorable mention goes to the Invisible Man. I like Dracula probably because to me he is the scariest monster. Frankenstein is good because I thought the idea of him making a person was really cool. I like the mummy because I have always kind of been interested in the Egyptian tombs and pyramids. Lastly I like the creature of the black lagoon because I love to swim and I just really like the idea of him.

I think that these are a lot less scary than the horror movies you see now. For instance I just saw Annabel in the theaters the other day and it scarred me a lot! I think some of the factors to that are now we have color and better special effects. I really like the classics but they aren't scary movies to me. The movies now like Annabel, Mama, and the Decent are a lot scarier then the old movies.

So that concludes my old black and white monster movies blog. I really enjoy watching these movies in October.

New York

New York

Hi guys! So today I am going to tell you about my families recent trip to New York City.

Both of my brothers wanted tickets and money to go to NYC comicon for their birthdays. So my aunt Robyn lives in NYC with my uncle Dave and two adorable cousins Andrew and Isaac. So it was a five hour drive, but we finally made it late thursday night. So we all just went strait to bed. The next day (Friday) Andrew and Isaac went to school witch reminded me that I couldn't go to school. That sounds weird but I really wanted to go.

In the morning the boys (Ashton, Alex, and Dad) went to comicon and we didn't see them for a while. My uncle Dave was away on a business trip the entire time we were there. So that left my mom, my aunt, and I to do something. So my aunt took us to a cute little town called Dumbo. Dumbo stands for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass. So we looked at bunch of cool things. We had pizza for lunch and then we went to a cafe. I had my first coffee and I have to say I didn't love it. It was ok but I wasn't a huge fan. We also got a cupcake. So then we relaxed at the house for a while until they got home.

The next day we went to the science museum. That was really fun. We did a lot of different activities in there. We spent most of the day at the science museum. So we came home and everyone way extremely worn out. We relaxed the rest of the day. Then later that day we went on a walk with crazy little cousins got all their energy out by making us chase them and going on a little playground. They today we had to leave around 10.

I had a really fun time in NYC. Thanks aunt Robyn!

Hey! That's my Fish!

Hey! That's my Fish!

Hi guys so today I am going to be reviewing a board game called Hey! That's my fish!

So hey that's my fish is about penguins trying to get as many fish as they can get. So there are four sets of four different colored penguins. So up to four people can play.

Ok so there are three different tiles. A one fish, a two fish, and a three fish.

You have to start on a one fish tile and you can only move in a line. So you rotate turns moving your penguins and the tile that you're penguin comes off of you take. So in the end you count up how many fish my penguins have.

So that is how you play Hey! That's my fish! I think that it is really fun. It is a pretty short game and only takes around five minutes to play.

Volleyball

Volleyball

Hi guys so today I am going to update you all on my volleyball status.

This is my second year playing volleyball for the Teal Tornadoes. I love to play volleyball! Last year when I started I thought I would end up hating it but I really love it. Last year I was pretty bad. None of my serves ever got over the net ever. My bumps never went where I wanted them to go. This year is the last year I can play on this team. Next year in high school I am going to try out for the volleyball team.

This year we have done really good. Most of the time we have either tied or won. We have lost to some of the better teams. Saturday we played the number one team called Green Force and we tied them. The week before we played Black Lightning and we won all four games. So this next Saturday we play championships. I am really excited, nervous, and scared. I really hope we win! I know we can do it, but I know there are a lot of other teams that can also do it.

We have a smaller team this year but I think that we have good players. The only bad think I can think of is the floor burns and bruises when you have to dive for the ball. Even then it is still fun. I play volleyball a lot at home in my back yard and we have practices twice a week for an hour an a half.

So I love volleyball and I really hope we win championships!

Cooking Deserts

Cooking Deserts

Hi guys so today I am going to be writing about my new found love for cooking deserts.

So lately I have been makiNg a lot of deserts. Mostly things like cake and cookies. I have just recently started to grow an interest in deserts other than cake. I really want to try making some French deserts, such as tart's and macaroons.

My Aunt and I made this pie together in New York.

My favorite time of the year to make deserts is definitely December. All the cute little deserts you can make are adorable for example I made this one last year: It is simply just a nutter butter dipped in melted chocolate with pretzel antlers, mini marshmallow eyes with a little bit of the melted chocolate for the pupils, and a mini m and m nose. Now you have an amazing tasting little Rudolph.

This is Angel Cake with whipped creme and strawberries.

There is so many things you can do in the world of deserts. I love lemon cake that's one of my favorite deserts. I have also made ice cream before and let me tell you that home made ice cream is so much better than store bought and who thought that could ever happen!

So I love making deserts now. If you have any recipes I would love for you to email them to me @katiebug.dill@comcast.net

Kings Dominion

Kings Dominion

Hi guys so today I am going to tell you all about my family trip to Kings Dominion.

So we went to Kings Dominion last Sunday. It was a day were all Booz Allen employees and their families get in free. So my mom works there and we decided to go. So on Sunday we got there at around 11:00 and the first thing we did was the Woodstock ride. That was pretty fun but a little bit small. So next we headed to the water park.

So at the water park we split up. My dad and I and then my brothers and my mom. So first we did the lazy river. Then we got on a big water slide with lots of tubes and tunnels. Then we did the lazy river one more time and found the boys and mom. Then we did a dinosaur hike. It was pretty long and exciting. The dinosaurs moves and made noises.

So last we did a bunch of roller coasters. I liked the Anaconda that was fun and scary. Then last we went to the candy store. We each got to pick out one thing so it got a box of Runts. Ashton got Lemon Heads and Alex got pezz.

So I had a lot of fun at Kings Dominion and I wish we could have done more, but it takes three hours to get there.

Hair

Hair

Hi guys so today I am going to be talking about hair. So lately I have been experimenting with my hair. I style it differently and I use different products.

Ok so this paragraph is going to be about my hair type. So my hair is dirty blonde. It's not overly dry or overly greasy it's right in the middle. I have some natural highlights of lighter blonde in my hair. I can only part my hair in the middle or to the left it won't go to the right.

So this paragraph is about what I like to use in my hair. Washing your hair everyday is bad for it. The shampoo will dry it out. So I wash mine every other day I just pull it into a ponytail when I'm in the shower and I don't wash my hair. A good thing to use on you second day of unwashed hair is dry shampoo. It helps take the oil out of your hair and gives it shine. For shampoo and conditioner my favorite that I've tried so far is Pantene Pro-V. For deep conditioners I recommend the Macadamia deep repair mask. It works really well. For a leave in treatment the It's a 10 plus Keratin is really good. Lastly, when you curl or straighten you hair with heat it's really bad for you're hair so you should use a heat protector.

Last I am going to be talking about different hairstyles I have been using. I I used to wear my hair down everyday. I brushed it and left it. So hairstyle number on is simply a high ponytail. I'm not sure why but I like hight ponytailed better that short ones. So next is a side braid. I like doing either a normal braid or a fish tale braid. Lastly I like to put my hair in two braids and then get them damp. Then wait like ten minutes and take it out and you have wavy hair.

So those are my hair tips!

Isaac

Isaac

Hi guys so today I am going to be writing about my adorable six year old cousin Isaac.

So recently my family went on another camping trip with Isaac and his family. So Isaac is my dad's sister's son. He is most of the time either very quiet or very loud. He is the cutest kid I have ever seen! He has bright orange hair and he is super smart for his age. So his mother my aunt, does a lot of blogs and he is in a lot of them. Her blog is called Made in Brooklyn.

He lives in New York City with his mom, dad, and other adorable brother. So I wish that Isaac would talk to me a little more when we do get together but he is more into my brothers with their Minecraft business. That's ok thought he is a boy;). It pains me every time Isaac's birthday comes around and he is a year older. I want him to start getting younger!

I remember on time I was in New York when Isaac was a baby and just sat there will he was napping adoring my baby cousin. Earlier today Isaac came to all of us sitting in a circle and says this is our group! All the guys laugh and the girls go aw!

So anyway he is the cutest little thing ever and I love him to death!

Sneaker Makeover!

Hi guys so today I am going to show you how I changed my dirty old pair of converse into a beautiful printed sneaker that I will wear a ton!

Ok so step number one is to remove the shoelaces and if they are dirty like mine we're paint both sides white.

Step number two is to paint the tongue of the shoe light pink and the rest of the canvas part of the shoe mint green.

 Then let everything dry.

Number three is to paint pink circles that are about the size of two quarters in the light pink color all over the mint green. Then add lines of yellow, white, and a
darker pink to the middle. Then add green leaves to them.

Let that dry and then lace up your beautiful floral printed sneakers!
